SolidSpac3 is building a software platform focused on construction management to ingest, compare, and analyze real-world visual and LiDAR data, closing the loop between CAD / BIM models and real-world construction practices. The need to efficiently reconcile in-the-field and as-built conditions to initial architectural plans is consistently a pain point in the construction process, as variances drive significant cost and time overruns. The team identified that contractors were in need of solutions that would leverage the detail in digital models to better understand progress and quality on an ongoing basis during construction. SolidSpac3 is able to utilize a range of input methods (visual images, LiDAR, contractor-generated content) to quickly identify deviations from plan and assess progress within a job, information contractors can use to reduce wasteful re-work.
